Painting a Thangka work is a very complicated process, from stretching cloth, polishing, aiming at the image,pressing the bottom, grinding paint and gold, coloring, dyeing, marking lines, tracing gold, and after opening the eyes, the painter carefully observes and handles some details and fills them. Why thangka is so expensive. Because pigments and costs are very expensive! Thangka uses mineral pigments and precious stones, pure gold and so on. After a long period of brewing, it takes months or years for a painting to be finished!
